I rarely have an Archtop Jazzer in stock as they are usually made to order. I was invited to exhibit at the Holy Grail Guitar Show in Berlin in November 2015 so this gave me an opportunity to make this guitar which is now available to buy. It is a Leonardo guitar (made without any tropical hardwoods) and, in fact, most of the woods used are Irish. The carved archtop back, sides, tail piece, scratchplate and neck are beautiful, figured, Irish fiddleback sycamore with a top of Canadian spruce. The high gloss AC lacquer finish has a cherry sunburst to bring out the figuring of the sycamore. The tailpiece and scratchplate were left natural colour. The fingerboard and bridge are not ebony but a sustainable substitute called Rocklite which has better properties than ebony in every respect. I thoroughly tested samples of Rocklite before chosing to use it. The frets are Jescar EVO which are gold in colour and very hard. A floating Larkin Armstrong humbucker takes care of the amplified sound. Although the body is 15" the sound produced is much bigger than expected and typically smooth and rich as you would want from an archtop jazzer both acoustically and amplified.
Please contact me if I can tell you more about this exceptional and beautiful guitar.
