An example of the ASAS Archtop with the classic combination of back and sides of flamed maple and top of Canadian sitka spruce. Top and back are hand carved and tap tuned. The neck is a laminate of figured hard maples with veneer details topped with an ebony fingerboard. The tailpiece, scratchplate and headstock veneer are Irish walnut and the binding is grained ivoroid. Soundwise using the Thomastik tapewound strings it has a warm, rich acoustic tone and is remarkably balanced for a 15" body. The floating Armstrong humbucker combines with the volume and tone controls to produce all the classic amplified jazz tones that you could expect. I really like the playability of the 15" body and the simplicity of line it allows.
